Silver Lake is a beautiful north shore neighborhood that is adjacent to Silver Lake Park, which “in its current form has the largest body of fresh water on Staten Island”. To the West side of the park on Forest Avenue are some of the most eloquently built Victorian and Colonial style mansions alongside Staten Island’s Building Blocks Montessori school. This portion of Silver Lake is known as “The Courts” and consists of the streets Edstone Dr, Rose Ct, Park Ct, and Silver Ct. To the North side of the park are some of Staten Island’s most highly sought after Silver Lake Apartments that are pet friendly and include many desirable amenities. The park has a public, lush green golf course known as the “working man’s golf course” accompanied by the Veranda Cafe which offers dining inside an outside. The park also has public tennis courts, a baseball field, a play area and a dog run. One of the most appealing parts of the park is the bridge that runs across the reservoir, which is nice for a long afternoon walk or a romantic evening stroll. The schools in the area are Notre Dame Academy, I.S. 27, P.S. 16, and P.S. 35. Silver Lake is close to downtown Staten Island and offers a variety of landscape from its beautiful city park to easy access public transportation and some nice restaurants as well. If you are looking for a place that has a city feel with an element of seclusion, then Silver Lake it is.
