Clove Lakes is a small portion of the Island and is “located within the triangle formed by Victory Boulevard, Clove Road and Little Clove Road” on the North Shore. It is lined with Cloves Lake Park on its Northside, which offers lots of recreation and has the established and respected Stonehouse Restaurant that rests along the beautiful and serene lake. It also offers an ice skating rink open in the winter and access for paddle and peddle boating in the summer. The park is “home to much indigenous wildlife” and is good for fishing and birdwatching. Some of the homes in the area are old; dating back to the nineteenth century and some have been updated with more modern facades. However, the land occupying the surrounding homes is generous and makes one feel like they are living in their own little nature world. The community has lots of character and personality and some of its schools are I.S.72, Notre Dame Academy, Wagner College, Saint John’s University, and Saint Theresa School. It offers a lot of convenience to the commuter because of its access to some of Staten Island’s best small businesses and its express buses. If one enjoys the outdoor beauty of nature and a friendly community; then Clove Lakes is the place for you.
