New Year’s is a great time for celebrating life. You brush off the rubble from the year you just had and rein in a New Year that promises to be better than the year before. You should celebrate and bring in the New Year with a bang! 

If you’re in the St. George area of Staten Island then head on over to Flagship Brewery for their New Year’s Eve party. The event will feature the brewery’s signature beer, as well as a live video feed of the ball dropping in Times Square. 

The party starts on Saturday, December 31st at 9 pm and will go on until 1 am. It promises to be a load of fun, featuring a buffet and a DJ, as well as tours of the entire brewery.

Flagship Brewery is located in the St. George part of Staten island at 40 Minthorne Street.

If you’re looking for something inexpensive to do during this Christmas season, why not lights? One of the best parts of the season each and every year is the holiday lights that cover most people’s houses. Instead of spending a ton of money attending a big Christmas event, pack the family into your car and cruise around the streets of Staten Island to peer at the beautiful displays some people have created for their home. 

One house in-particular shines more than the rest, no pun intended. Visit the corner of Kingdom Avenue and Algonkin Street, located in the Huguenot area of Staten Island, to see for yourself and if you don’t have the time or the patience for that, watch the video above!

Yesterday, Tuesday the 13th, great progress was made on the upcoming New York Wheel. Beginning installation of its first major piece, the wheel will feature four pedestals that will hold the responsibility of holding it up. New York Wheel CEO, Rich Marin, led a tour of press, counsel members, and project partners around the construction site. They were among some of the first civilians to set foot on the site.

The event saw many reporters from a variety of news outlets such as CBS, and New York 1. Rich Marin had this to say about the project that's set to be finished in 2018:

“The arrival of the Wheel’s pedestals is important for several reasons, these are the first major parts of the Wheel to arrive at our site and soon, we will begin to

Native Staten Islander Dean Holtermann is certainly getting into the holiday spirit this Christmas season and he has a song that can prove it. Holtermann penned this song himself, titled "Christmas Tree Love", and as you watch him sing in the video you can tell that he’s having as much fun as he can. In the end, that’s really all that matters.

Dean had this to say: 

“Yes I know I am not a great singer, but it is a heart felt song. And I did play all the instruments myself. So Merry Christmas, Peace on Earth, and good will toward all!”
