Staten Island's Richmond City Media, a production company made up of young filmmakers, took to New Dorp High School this month for Staten Island's first ever "Comic Con" Fans of sci-fi and superheroes alike made their way to the high school's gymnasium for comics, cosplay, and panels about the red-hot comic culture. 

On their website, Richmond City Media is described as a group based out of Staten Island made of of local filmmakers. Their mission is to create art and media for the betterment Staten Island. Their team is comprised of Melissa Pellicano, Artem Golub, Mitchell Lovell, Sean Winslow, Sean Ryan, Julianne Neely, & Steven Gatti.

 If there's one thing that Staten Island is becoming increasingly known for, its the great food available in our borough. Traditionally, the island has been famous for it's pizza, but lately, all of the buzz has been about brunch. Specifically, people have been buzzing about Project Brunch, a small all-brunch restaurant that opened up on the South Shore. The word of mouth for the new restaurant has reached so far and wide that they've already been written about across the web as "The best brunch in New York City"

Recently, Zagat, *the* authority on food in this country took a trip to Staten Island to take in some breathtaking brunch. Watch the video, below:

 The world was recently saddened to learn that we've lost David Bowie, an incredibly talented and influential artist. Believe it or not, Bowie made a point to visit Staten Island specifically. On This Way on Bay, writer Vin Forte explains: "Back in 2002, David Bowie was on tour in NYC. But this wasn’t just any tour. Bowie had pledged to play a show in every one of the five boroughs. When Bowie came to SI he decided to play at the Snug Harbor Music Hall."

When the New York Times wrote about the performance, they too decided to take in the show at Snug Harbor: "[Bowie] was all smiles when he performed on Friday night at the Snug Harbor Music Hall on Staten Island.   In 10 years, Staten Island will be as modern as anywhere in the world. One example of that will be the brand new Riverside Galleria, opening up in the Charleston area on the south shore of the borough. The video above shows one of the south shore’s biggest projects, the Riverside Galleria, which is opening in Charleston in 2017. The Riverside Galleria will be a retail complex with a large waterfront promenade, multiplex cinema and eateries with outdoor dining.   We're excited to see the finished project, especially when we can take in some great new movies in a state of the art theater.
