Don Arangio is an artist and filmmaker based in Staten Island's St. George area. As one of many artists in the burgeoning NYC hot-spot, Arangio has been taking advantage of the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, which are available to many homes and apartments in the area.

By utilizing the unique perspective available in his neighborhood, the young director has created a series of viral videos and gorgeous photographs, including the one shown above of the Staten Island Ferry at the end of a rainbow. He's also created short films that have gone viral (and got him some goodies from Dairy Queen, which was prominently featured)

This work shows exactly why tourists will flock to the Staten Island Wheel once it opens up. The 45 minute long ride

The Empire Outlets, which are wildly anticipated around Staten Island, broke ground this week in Saint George. The shopping center, along with the New York Wheel are just two of the improvements which are sure to bring millions of tourists to Staten Island's north shore, as well as millions of dollars in jobs created by the businesses which will be moving in there. 

It was recently announced that the following businesses will be soon making home on Staten Island: H&M, Nordstrom, Starbucks, U.S. Polo, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic Factory Store, White House Black Market, Columbia Sportswear Company, Guess Factory Store, Wilsons Leather, G.H. Did you know that Staten Island is covered with bicycle trails for riders to explore? Our borough is one of the most beautiful locations that a New York City cycling enthusiast can come and enjoy a great ride. Just one example of that is the annual Tour de Staten Island ride, which is taking place this Sunday April 12th.

Here's how the official website for the event described it: 

"The Tour de Staten Island is a non-competitive ride through the neighborhoods of New York’s southernmost borough. The tour offers route lengths of 35 miles and 55 miles. Both routes are supported by rest stops stocked with KIND bars, fruit, Nuun sports drink, and good old H20. Pack a lunch or bring some cash to purchase additional snacks or a full meal along the way.

 We hope you're hungry, Staten Island! For the next two weekends, we'll be celebrating not one, but TWO Staten Island restaurant crawls!
